Winter Wonderland

This is a look that was inspired from this picture for my friend Kristen:

I love LOVE this picture! It was so pretty and I hope I did it justice! This is what I came up with...:)

Key to this look... SHIMMER!!:))
I used a shimmery purple in the crease, as well as in the outer corner and on the lower lid.
I also used a shimmery blush AND a shimmery bronzer.
For the lips, I used a frosty white shade, to give a soft, snow effect to the look!

I hope you like it! You are beautiful, and don't be afraid to be you!!

Physicians Formula Shimmer Strips Custom Eye Enhancing Gel Liner - Product Review

Wow... that was a long title!:) I was shopping at Target, and I came across this cute little trio of gel liners from this brand called Physicians Formula.
Price: $10
The package looks like this:

Before I get started with what I am going to say, this is what the product description on the website says:

  • Three custom shades provide a glamorous look to define and enhance your eye color.
  • Unique gel cream formula glides-on effortlessly and smoothly while providing the definition of a liquid eyeliner.
  • Long-wearing, water-resistant and smudge-resistant formula provides 24-Hour definition.
  • Includes Pro-Eyeliner Brush for effortless and precise application.
  • Stackable eyeliner pots can be pulled apart for individual use on-the-go.
These points are all true! The liners go on very easily and have great pigmentation (color)! They last all day, they do not smug, and they are water resistant... just like the description says! The brush that it comes with works... Its not the best, but it will definitely work if you don't have anything else to use! And the fact that they come in a cute stackable, colorful packaging, is very VERY convenient as well as very cute. ;)

It comes in four different "sets" based on your specific eye color. They have one for green eyes, brown eyes, hazel eyes and blue eyes. Each set has three colors: a "natural" color, a "playful" color and a "dramatic" color. The "natural" color is usually the same as  your eye color (green eyes = green "natural" color, brown eyes = brown "natural" color). And the dramatic color is solid black with a certain color of tiny sparkles in it. This is what the brown eyes set looks like, with the three different colors:

I first bought the green eyes set for me, because I needed more eyeliners, and these were only $10 for three different colors!! So, a week later I went back to buy a set for my makeup kit (when I do other people's makeup) because I LOVE THEM! I use them every day! They are so fun, and so pretty. The amount of product in each of the containers is perfect! They will DEFINITELY last you a while, and there isn't too much, which is good because a problem that can come up with gel liners is that they dry up before you can finish up using all of the product! (Which can be frustrating and a waste of money... and no one likes that!)
This is the set for green eyes:

This is the brown eyes and green eyes set... shows you how cute the little "stackable" packaging is!:)

Set for brown eyes:

-Colors: brown, plum purple, black with little purple sparkles!

Set for green eyes:

-Colors: green with a little bit of shimmery sparkle, deep almost iridescent indigo purple (soooo pretty!), black with tiny green sparkles!

Swatches!
Left side: Green eyes
Right side: Brown eyes

GRADE: A+

SUMMARY: GO get YOU some of THIS! I LOVE LOVE LOVEEEE these eyeliners, and would recommend them to EVERYONE, even if you aren't very into makeup because they are so fun, portable, cute and you get several options; they are a great thing to add to your makeup collection!

Email me if you have any questions!
Thanks for your time!

Glitter Look #2 - Emerald Disco

And here we go again... GLITTER!!:)) This is a smokey, dramatic, festive look for New Years, or any holiday you want! I didn't really have a specific inspiration for this, I just kinda put it together in my head, and I think it came out pretty good!
Here it is...:)

Products I used on my eyes to get this look were:

  • Urban Decay Primer Potion
  • NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil in "Milk"
  • BH Cosmetics 120 palette 2nd edition
  • Sleek Makeup eyeshadow palette in "Me Myself and Eye"
  • NYX Glitterati Glitter Creme Palette
  • Physicians Formula Shimmer Strips Gel Creme Liner for Green Eyes
  • NYX Felt Tip Liner in "Jet Black"
  • Mascara:) (Ulta brand)
Quick low-down of how YOU can get this look!
  1. Apply primer and/or base.
  2. Apply a silver shadow from the inner corner  to the first third or half of the lid.
  3. Apply a deep forest-y green (or whatever shade you want) to the second half of the lid.
  4. Take a black shadow (matte or shimmer - doesn't matter, I used both! :P ) and lightly take it from the outer corner up into your crease and bring it about three quarters of the way over (in your crease, above the green).
  5. BLEND! Blend the green and the black very well, should create a smokey effect (DUH!).
  6. Apply a shimmery copper/tan/taupe color above the black that's in your crease to soften it and graduate the color change more.
  7. Apply a cream - colored shimmery highlight above the brownish color you put on, and underneath your eyebrow.
  8. BLEND! Blend the black into the brown and the brown into the highlight. (Make the change in colors as subtle as you can.)
  9. Apply silver glitter to where you put the silver eyeshadow (this can be a messy step!).
  10. Go over the glitter with the silver eyeshadow again (to cover up any spots or holes) and blend the silver and the sparkles into the green.
  11. Apply the same shade of green that you put on the second half of your lid, on the same half of your lower lid.
  12. Apply a shimmery, bright, plum purple color from the middle of the lower lid to the inner corner. Blend the two colors together in the middle of your lower lid.
  13. Put a little bit of a sea colored green next to the tear duct, and blend it out.
  14. Apply a black liquid or gel liner on the top, and a black pencil liner on the bottom in the water line.
  15. Apply mascara on top and bottom...
And you are ready to go!!

Kat Knapp - A TRUE Inspiration!

Hello friends! So, my dear friend Kat Knapp just posted something on Facebook, and it is EXACTLY what my hopes for Royal Beauty Makeup is all about! She has an incredible life story, and I know for a fact that God has BIG things in store for her life, and it is such a blessing that she has come into my life... So thank you, Kat Knapp.... You are truly beautiful on the inside and out:)

This is her post on Facebook:

"This is for everyone that has been told that there's something wrong with them, but then that they should be themselves. we all get told :"be yourself". But some us of us get told that we're too shy, too outgoing, whatever it is. There's a standard of how "yourself" should be, and we're all expected to follow it, basically making everyone the same. why should you change because of the standard? Aren't you supposed to be "yourself"? I guess what i'm trying to say is that I'm not going to change because you say I'd look better; that's not me. I don't feel uncomfortable going out without it, but doing makeup is what I love and its part of what makes me, me. I don't believe that true beauty is what is real and natural, its being true to yourself."

So! Royal Beauties... whatever makes you YOU and fills your heart with a joy and contentment that not many things can be, whether its makeup, or music, or sports or WHATEVER...

Don't be afraid to be yourself! Because that's who God wants you to be:)

I absolutely LOVE the colors of this look!:)

MAGICAL Blending Sponge

Ok, so I had been researching these things called beauty blenders, and hearing about them all over youtube. So I got one! This is the product description off of the target website: "Use this blending sponge by Sonia Kashuk to get complete coverage from your foundation or concealer. Its precision tip helps you apply makeup evenly for a smooth, radiant look." And this is EXACTLY what it does!

This is an AMAZING tool to have in your makeup kit - even if you don't have a very big one - I would recommend it to everyone!!
It was $9.99 at Target.

MY PROBLEM: Ok, so here is the dealio. I, as you all can tell, have very very fair skin. So, foundation is a very tricky thing to find for me that goes with my skin color... The one I have right now is the Estee Lauder Double Wear Stay-in-Place Makeup SPF 10, and even the lightest shade they had is too dark. When we bought it we couldn't really tell in the store, but if there is too much put on, my face can look very orange (gross!). I used to use a standard foundation brush, but no matter how little product I tried to use, it always came out too much and too thick and too dark! So, I started looking into different ways that professional makeup artists like to put on foundation; some like foundation brushes, some like sponge wedges, some like to just use their fingers, or a stippling brush, or a BEAUTY BLENDER...

SOLUTION: This blending sponge was the heavenly answer to my problem... it is unbelievable! It still gets me the full-coverage that I want when I put on my foundation, and it is flawless! It applies it evenly without using so much product. (And even though my foundation is still a shade or two darker than my skin, this helps and makes a huge difference, so that it actually looks very close to what it should be because its not so thick.)

HOW TO USE: You can pretty much use this any way you want, but I am going to tell you how I use it. First step, wash your hands!!! Then, I pour out a less-than-dime-size portion of the foundation onto the back of my hand. And take my finger and dip it into the foundation on my hand and put dots of the foundation on the main areas of my face (cheeks, nose, chin, forehead...). Next, I get my blending sponge damp, and with it, just lightly pat the dots of foundation and spread it out so it covers the entirety of my face. If you want you can pour out a little more foundation and go over it again to get any trouble spots or areas that you might have missed. BLEND it up to your hair line, out past the jawline, and down your neck a little - you can do this using the same patting method, or rolling the sponge from one side to another to maybe get a smoother blending application.

GRADE: A ++

FINAL THOUGHTS: GO GET ONE!:) This is a great product, and it gives you the flawless, airbrushed look that we all want!

Get Sleazy?!;)

What's new?! You heard Ke$ha's new single, "Get Sleazy Remix 2.0"? Well, I just did, but that's NOT what I am getting at... it is her makeup on the cover of the album!

This is a HOT trend right now... Big, hot, sexy RED lips! With simple eyes and face!
To get this look:

  • Eyebrows: Full, lightly colored
  • Eyes: Thick black eyeliner and mascara on top, with no eyeshadow, OR cover your lids with your foundation; nothing on the bottom lid
  • Face: Skin colored foundation, with a lightly "sun kissed" bronzer
    • Bronzer: I will write about my tips for how to apply bronzer later:)
  • Lips: BRIGHT red or HOT pink... whichever you prefer;)
And that's it! Comment and let me know what you think!

Jewelry Fashion Tip!

Ok, so us girls love jewelry, right?! So, here are a couple good things to keep in mind....:)
Tip #1: Wanna look put together? Quick and Easy:)

  • Do you live always on the go?? Well, as you are running out the door, DONT FORGET YOUR JEWELRY/ACCESSORIES! It doesn't take much! With only 4, that's right only FOUR things, you look completely put together!:) This doesn't have to be jewelry items, but they could be! (A pair of earrings, a ring, a watch, a necklace and you're good to go.) It can also be just simple accessories, including glasses, a purse, a scarf or anything like that!
Tip #2: Bracelets?

  • When you are wearing bracelets, it typically looks better if you wear an ODD number of them! Funny, right? Now, I know this might not be true for all cases, just a general thing to keep in mind. An odd number of pieces, especially in jewelry, typically is more pleasing to the eye! So maybe its only 1, or maybe 5 or 7, have fun with it, but remember ODD numbers and you are good to go!:))

Let me know on here or on my Facebook page what other things you would like to see me write about:) You are Royal Beauty!
